1985年のリリースは発売と同時に速効買って、2005年のリマスター版も出てから速効買いました。 リマスター版には 1985年当時にリリースされたロングリミックス、リミックス等の ボーナストラックが 7曲追加されてます。特に好きなのが Some Link it Hot, Communication, Get it On の 3曲。Get it On はかの有名な T.REX のマークボランが作った曲。 これのカヴァーヴァージョンです

内容としては、今じゃ珍しいスタンダードなロックンロールバンド。Robert Palmer のヴォーカル、John Taylor のベース、Andy Taylor のギター、 Tony Thompson のドラムとシンプルでポピュラーな組み合わせです。The Power Station という名前の通り、 パワフルな曲調となってますが、Robert Palmer のヴォーカルがそれをうまく調和していてやかましく感じないのが特徴

…残念ながら、オリジナルメンバーで現在存命なのは John と Andy の二人だけとなってしまいました。 Robert Palmer は 2003年 9月 26日に フランスのパリにて心臓発作で亡くなっています。享年 54歳。Tony Thompson も 同年の 11月に腎臓癌で亡くなっています
